Biography
Guy Surtees is not just a British Country Music singer and songwriter; he’s a musical storyteller whose journey spans over three decades. Hailing from England, Guy’s rich tapestry of influences includes legends like Dwight Yoakam, Lady A, Brothers Osborne, Chris Stapleton, Brett Young, and Sean McConnell. His musical prowess extends across multiple instruments, including guitar, bass, banjo, keyboards, and drums.
Growing up in Coventry during the vibrant 2-Tone era, Guy’s heart was captured by Country music in 1986 when he first heard Dwight Yoakam. This love was rekindled in 2009 with the soulful melodies of Lady Antebellum. Today, Guy stands as a proud member of the burgeoning British Country Music movement, and is affectionately known as the English Country Boy.
Guy’s journey through the UK Country scene has earned him recognition and respect from his peers, along with a devoted fanbase. His music is not about chasing fame or fortune; it’s about sharing his soul-bearing story songs with the world, making his family and friends proud, and having a lot of fun along the way.
